It's always a war to this man. I wonder, when he's sitting in his office, and he gets a little peckish, does he declare war on the munchies?

Warcry News Network: "About RTS games, many of these games require fast building order. Being a fast player is still the best advantage you can have in these games, but isn't that more of a skill than strategy? How will Empires - DMW strategy be compared to your previous games?"
Wired News: Did E-Vote Firm Patch Election?: "Behler said 25 to 30 percent of the machines in one shipment to the warehouse either crashed upon booting or had problems with their real-time clocks, causing the systems to register the date inaccurately then boot improperly or freeze up altogether. [...] According to Harris, this scenario is particularly worrisome in light of what happened in the Georgia gubernatorial race, which ended in a major upset that defied all polls and put a Republican in the governor's seat for the first time in more than 130 years."

Copplestone Castings 28mm The Back of Beyond
This site includes a number of army lists for a mini game called Contemptible Little Armies. The lists are based around 1920's pulp adventure in Chin and Eastern Russia. It includes some great background info as well as army lists for local warlords, archeaological expeditions, and so on. Having recently read The Search for Ubar, with it's accounts of gun toting American archaeologists and their run-ins with the local warlords in Yemen and Oman, I'm primed for this!

www.gapingvoid.com : Hugh MacLeod reminds me why I was drawn to Blogging in the first place with an extremely thoughtful rant on the advertising indsutry.
"I was talking to a banker friend (not a client) about bank & financial marketing.
'Money is a commodity,' she says, 'All the services are pretty much the same. Makes it hard to market the stuff.'
'Yeah, well,' I say, 'If they're buying the same stock photos of the same silver-haired couple playing golf and cranking out the same 'managing your hard-earned success' drivel as their competition, then they should expect the same crappy results.'
'Agreed,' she says, 'but still, it's a conservative market. Doing something edgy would scare too many people.'
'Well,' I say, 'if you can't be edgy, be lucid.'
'Lucid?'
'Yeah. You and your colleagues... you're all pretty smart, engaging people. When you guys talk about your work it's pretty interesting to listen to. How come your brochures aren't the same?' "
