Council adopts immigrants' rights ordinance

"The city of Seattle's job is to protect and serve its residents, not to enforce immigration laws or to join in anti-immigrant "hysteria," the City Council said yesterday as it adopted an ordinance that bars city workers from asking anyone their immigration status."
