I downloaded a demo today. I do this alot. I probably check out a dozen games a week. Only a few of these are downloaded demos. Some are web games. Some are puzzle games. Often I'll go to FilePlanet and see what downloads are popular. Sometimes a game's site will force me to use fileplanet to download. I refuse to pay $6 a month (or whatever it is) for fast downloads, so I usually have to wait 45 minutes to start my download and then another half hour for the download to complete. Yet after all this, I almost always find that within 6 seconds of starting, the game is not worth playing. I'd say that I find a game that holds my attention for as much as an hour as rarely as once a month. So why are people bothering to make these games? Some of them don't even hold up to the standards of 2, 3 or even 5 years ago.
